Can I ask you something... Your art is something that I feel like is developed and amazing and something that you'd never find if you didn't make it... I find it very hard to believe that this was derived from anywhere and makes me think that the idea that everything one makes is takes inspiration from something, has its limits... its something truly amazing so I want to ask you, if anything... what are the things (Artists, experiences, sights, etc) that inspire your art/art style?

Wow, you are being so very kind. Thank you!
Nature inspires me - when I was a kid I loved spending a lot of time in forests, and still now 30 years later, I have a very passionate relationship with nature and I feel like a kid when I'm surrounded by it. Especially forests and large trees make me feel like I'm in a dream or a fairytale, I lose track of time and all things seem kind of magical. I love exploring nature in different times of year and times of day, during different lighting and weather conditions. The beautiful and interesting landscapes, plants, animals, textures and colors I see fill me with wonder and joy and that feeling is what I like to absorb into by drawing and painting it, or glimpses of it at least. (I also love to photograph nature but I've noticed I'm not always able to capture the things I see with a camera, either because I'm not a skilled enough photographer or because the things I see are colored by imagination). Another important reason why I like to make art, is that I have the recurring, strong need to escape reality, or to process my life and overwhelming feelings in a way that makes them easier to cope with and accept. So art and creativity is kind of therapy for me, a necessity I need to do regularly or else I'm anxious and unhappy. These are the things that make me draw what I draw, even if the actual drawing process is quite intuitive and often feels pretty arbitrary/random for me, while I draw (as if the subjects are coming from "nowhere").

Style and technique-wise I'm inspired by lots of other artists. I have dozens (possibly hundreds) of favorite artists and my favorites also tend to change over time, sometimes quite rapidly. When I started to consciously develop my personal illustration style, I really liked the artists from the "Golden Age of Illustration", late 1800's and early 1900´s (Rackham, Bauer, and the like) and I guess I've also been influenced a lot by a Finnish artist Tove Jansson, at least I get compared to her a lot and I do love her art and her children's books. :)

Thank you for your reply very much, I appreciate it a lot. I draw to grow, but I have a hard time expressing myself((even when typing this to now) even though I know who I am, but my soul becomes quiet when I try to express myself even when my conscious doesnt, and it becomes frustrating when I know what I'm capable of but can't use it. And I don't know why so I look for answers and thats what brought me here to you. Thank you for your time

I love the Icelandic romances and Njals saga, there is a lot of similarities between the Scandinavian culture and the Celtic culture, we should all be proud of our heritage.
