Last ones of the fellowship escape the water monster at the gates of Moria. Scene sets in the novel Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Tools: watercolour, liners, and a bit of markers and coloured pencils on rough watercolour paper.

Is it described as this in the book as a bunch of tentavles with hands at the ends instead of the movie's cephalapod like monster?

It's just described having gripping fingers at the ends of the tentacles, and this is my interpretation of that. Actual hands might well be an overinterpretation, but that's the way I imagined it when reading it and it was a creepy-fun thing to draw, anyway. (:

This painting reminds me of some of John Bauer's works, with the way the trees frame the picture, and the overall darkness. I like it. :)
