Aredhel and Maeglin by ullakko Aredhel and Maeglin by ullakko
Watercolor and black & white ink pens on heavy, textured paper.

Aredhel, the White Lady of the Noldor, and her son Maeglin leaving Nan Elmoth and riding through the land of Himlad.

The colours turned out autumn-ish by accident.. it's supposed to be midsummer in the story. The purple in the background was just supposed to be a hint of heather growing out there. Oh well!

Characters from The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Thanks! I agree, Silmarillion's writing style is very different - some love it, others hate. It took me several tries (during many years) before I ended up actually reading the whole thing. I'm glad I did, though I still prefer LOTR and the Hobbit. :)
